LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – There was a significant police presence at a Lexington home Thursday morning, but not for a purpose you may well expect.
Officer Ryan Holland, with the community’s help, stunned a Lexington female with a house makeover.
Just a handful of months ago, Sylvania Bell’s dwelling was what Officer Holland phone calls “unliveable.”
“You could leap up and down on this flooring like a trampoline the whole residence would bounce,” Holland explained.
Since then, $90,000 really worth of renovations transformed the home Bell has lived in her complete lifestyle.
“I just hope that she understands that she’s cared for,” said Officer Holland. “People in this community adore her and she’s bought a safe and sound household now.”
From floor to ceiling, almost everything in the dwelling has been replaced. Right before, Bell made use of nearly anything she could to avoid her aged roof from leaking, even tacking sheet pans to the ceiling.
“Those are for baking, not putting on your ceiling no much more,” explained Holland.
Now, Bell is again in her newly restored household, just in time for Xmas.
“Oh, it is wonderful. Oh, I just like every little thing. I ain’t never been so delighted in my everyday living,” reported Bell.
By way of Officer Holland’s nonprofit corporation, Restore Hope, Holland has been able to aid a lot of community associates. He states he hopes to enable even extra in the upcoming.
